The Juxtaposition Cross of Correction
The Angle: Fixed Fate
The Juxtaposition angle is the most impersonal of the three cross expressions. Where the Right Angle cross is a personal destiny—lived and fulfilled through individual will and self-direction—and the Left Angle cross is transpersonal karma, worked out through bonds with others, the Juxtaposition cross is fixed fate. The person born under this cross is a demonstration, not by choice but by design. Before incarnation, the role was set. The theme plays out through the very circumstances of the life, the nature of the body, the shape of the mind, and the recurring patterns of experience. Whether or not the individual engages consciously, the cross expresses itself. It is a fixed archetypal point in the collective field, a living embodiment of a particular human pattern.
The Four Gates
The Juxtaposition Cross of Correction is built on four gates: Gate 18, Correction, in the Personality Sun; Gate 58, Joy and Vitality, in the Personality Earth; Gate 36, Crisis (The Darkening of the Light), in the Design Sun; and Gate 47, Realization (Abstract Thought), in the Design Earth. These four form a complete circuit of seeing, evaluating, suffering, and knowing. Correction (18) without crisis (36) has no urgency; realization (47) without correction has no ground; joy (58) without the others is shallow. Together they form the full mythic arc of this cross: judgment, darkness, understanding, and the return of vitality.

The theme is correction seen as a sacred function. The cross is here to demonstrate what it means to discern what is wholesome and what is not, and to model how that discernment is meant to serve the evolution of the whole. Correction is not punishment or cruelty.
