Test Your Networking Strategy With a 30-Day Plan
Most people treat networking like a chore. Show up, hand out business cards, follow up, repeat. It works for some, but for many Human Design types, it feels wrong in the body. You leave a room full of contacts and feel drained, misaligned, or like you just performed for an hour. The problem is not you. The problem is that you have been using someone else's networking strategy.
Human Design offers a different path. Your Strategy is how you correctly engage with the world. Your Authority is how you make decisions that are actually right for you. When you bring both of these into a 30-day experiment, networking stops being a performance and becomes a living practice.
Why a 30-Day Plan Fits Human Design
The 30-day cycle in Human Design comes from the I Ching, the same foundation the whole system rests on. A lunar cycle is roughly 28 to 30 days, and this is the time it takes to notice whether a new pattern is rooted or not. Reflectors are the clearest example, since their strategy requires waiting a full lunar cycle before making big decisions. But every type benefits from giving a new way of being a full month before judging it.

Calculate your chartA 30-day networking plan is not about hustling harder. It is about installing a small experiment, living inside it, and letting your Strategy and Authority guide each step. By day 30, you will not be guessing whether your approach works. You will have a felt sense of it.
Set the Strategy First
Before you send a single message or accept a single invitation, name your Strategy. This is the part most people skip, and it is the part that changes everything.
If you are a Generator or Manifesting Generator, your strategy is to respond. Stop scrolling for new rooms to enter. Spend the month paying attention to the invitations, messages, and conversations that spark a real gut response. A Generator networking month might mean saying yes to fewer things, but showing up fully to the ones your sacral lights up around.
If you are a Projector, your strategy is to wait for the invitation. This is the hardest one to apply to networking, because the entire industry tells you to chase. For 30 days, try the opposite. Share your work, share your perspective, and let people come to you. Notice who recognizes you without a pitch.
If you are a Manifestor, your strategy is to inform. Networking for you is not about being liked. It is about letting people know what you are initiating. A 30-day plan for a Manifestor can be as simple as informing five people a week about your current focus and seeing who responds with energy.
If you are a Reflector, networking at all is delicate. Your strategy mirrors the lunar cycle. Use the 30 days to sample, observe, and take note of how different environments feel in your body. Do not commit to a single group, person, or direction before the month is up. Your wisdom lives in your sampling.
Let Your Authority Lead Each Move
Strategy gets you to the door. Authority walks you through it. During the 30 days, every networking decision should pass through your inner authority before you act on it.
A Sacral Generator or Manifesting Generator will feel a clear yes or no in the belly. A Splenic authority will feel a quiet click in the moment, often quiet enough to miss if you are not paying attention. An Emotional authority will need to ride the wave and check the same opportunity on a high day and a low day. An Ego or Heart authority will notice what they want and whether they have the will to follow through. A Self-Projected authority will hear the truth in how they talk about something out loud. A Mental or G Center authority will find clarity through dialogue and the direction of their environment.
Whichever one is yours, the practice is the same. Pause before every reach out, every reply, every yes. Run it through your authority. If it does not clear, the right thing will still be there in an hour. If it does clear, act immediately.
A Simple 30-Day Structure
You do not need a complex plan. Keep it small enough to actually live.
Days 1 to 7, set the frame. Write down your Type, Strategy, and Authority on a card. Read it every morning. Notice how your current networking habits match or fight what is on the card. Do not change anything yet. Just observe.
Days 8 to 14, run one new experiment per week. For Generators and MGs, this might mean responding to three opportunities a week instead of initiating ten. For Projectors, posting one piece of work a week and waiting. For Manifestors, sending a single brief inform to five people. For Reflectors, visiting two different rooms and noting the body sensation in each.
Days 15 to 21, start filtering. Not every connection is yours. Let some replies go unanswered. Decline the next thing that does not clear your authority. Notice how the room feels when you stop trying to please.
Days 22 to 30, lean in. The connections that are meant for you will already be deepening. This is where you follow the thread. Reply more slowly, meet one person for a real conversation, send the message you have been sitting on. Trust the signal your body has been sending all month.
What You Will Know by Day 30
By the end of the cycle, you will not have a bigger contact list. You will have a truer one. You will know who lights you up, who drains you, which rooms to return to, and which to leave. You will know whether your Strategy is really yours or whether you adopted it from a coach, a culture, or a parent. You will know what it feels like to network without performing.
That is the real authority the 30 days offer. Not a framework to copy, but a felt sense of how you are designed to engage, who you are designed to engage with, and when the right thing is ready to meet you.
Test it. Run the month. Let the strategy work.
