The G Center is the heart of the bodygraph. Identity, direction, and love.
G Center in Human Design: Identity, Direction and Love
The G Center — also called the Identity Center — sits at the very top of the BodyGraph like a small diamond, and in many ways it is the silent engine of the whole chart. While the other centers process life, the G Center quietly answers the questions: Who am I? Where am I going? Who do I love, and how do I love? It is the place of identity, life direction, and the magnetic pull of love itself.
The G Center at a Glance
Shaped like a triangle or diamond, the G Center is located in the upper portion of the BodyGraph. Ra Uru Hu described it as a magnetic monopole — the only center in the chart that draws life toward it rather than pushing energy outward. Its four arrows point in the directions a person naturally takes when they are aligned with their true self.
Biologically, the G Center is associated with the liver and its ancient role of holding and processing. Energetically, it is the place where consciousness, identity, and the trajectory of life are stored. A G Center is either defined (colored in) or undefined (white), and this single distinction shapes how a person experiences self, love, and direction.

When the G Center is defined, identity is consistent. You are who you are — not because of what happened this morning, but because your self has a stable, reliable shape. This is the person who walks into a room and is recognizable. Their presence has direction. They know what they like, who they are, and where they are going, often without needing to think about it.
The gift here is magnetic clarity. A defined G Center person can hold their identity with grace, offering others a mirror of what it means to be self
