30-Day Experiment: Test Your Strategy in Real Life
A Month to Know Yourself Differently
Thirty days is long enough to break a habit, short enough to commit to. In Human Design, this is a perfect window to stop guessing about your strategy and authority and start living the experiment with your full attention. Not a weekend retreat. Not a vague intention. A real, observable, lived test of the mechanics your chart is offering you.
Your strategy is the way your energy is designed to move through the world. Your authority is the inner compass that tells you when something is correct for you. Together, they form the most practical navigation system you will ever own. But here is the catch: they only work when you use them. Reading about them is interesting. Living them is where everything changes.
The Two Pillars You Are Testing
Strategy answers the question, "How should I initiate?" Authority answers the question, "Is this right for me?" Most people have been running their life on the opposite of both. They push when they should wait, decide with their minds when their bodies are trying to speak, and then wonder why the results feel off.
A 30-day experiment strips this down to something you can actually feel. You are not trying to become a different person. You are simply giving your design permission to operate. The experiment is the permission slip.
Designing Your Experiment by Type
Your strategy changes depending on your Type, so the shape of your month will too.
If you are a Generator or Manifesting Generator, your strategy is to respond. For 30 days, practice waiting for life to come to you before saying yes to the big things. Notice what rises in your sacral when an opportunity appears. A clean "uh-huh" or "uh-uh" is your strategy in action. Resist the urge to initiate from your mind, even when you think you see a good idea. The world has been waiting to show you what it has.
If you are a Projector, your strategy is to wait for the invitation. This is the hardest one for most people, because it feels like doing nothing. It is not nothing. It is recognition waiting for recognition. For 30 days, watch for invitations that feel right in your body, and stop pursuing what has not been asked of you. Your bitterness is the cleanest scorecard. If bitterness is rising, something is being violated.
If you are a Manifestor, your strategy is to inform. For a month, tell the people affected by your actions what you are about to do before you do it. Not asking permission. Informing. Watch the resistance in your environment soften. The peace you feel when you inform is your strategy working.
If you are a Reflector, a full lunar cycle is the traditional length of an experiment, but 30 days will still show you something real. Your strategy is to wait. Use the month to notice how your mood, energy, and clarity shift with the moon and with the people you spend time with. Your authority is the lunar cycle itself, and no decision made under pressure will ever serve you the way a waited one will.
How to Track Your Authority
Authority is harder to measure than strategy, because it is felt, not seen. The simplest way to track it is to keep a short daily note. Each evening, write down one decision you made that day and how you made it. Did you feel a clear yes or no in your body? A pull in your chest? A sense of expansion? A quiet settling? Or did you decide with your mind and feel nothing in particular?
For Sacral authority, the sound is the signal. For Emotional authority, the answer comes only after the wave has passed. For Splenic authority, it is the whisper you almost missed. For Ego authority, it is what your heart says when it speaks through the will. For Self-Projected G Centers, it is what sounds right when you talk it out. For Mental Projectors, it is the direction your voice wants to go. For Reflectors, it is how the month itself unfolds.
You are not looking for perfection. You are looking for evidence. Small correct decisions build on each other.
What Success Actually Looks Like
Success in this experiment is not a list of wins. It is a felt sense of rightness. Meals that digest better. Conversations that flow. Sleep that comes easier. The subtle sense that life is meeting you instead of you wrestling with it.
You may also notice what you have been doing wrong. That is not failure. That is your authority showing you what was never yours to carry. The experiment is not to prove Human Design is right. It is to give yourself a clean reference point for what alignment feels like in your own body.
The Most Common Pitfall
The biggest mistake is treating the experiment like a test you can pass or fail. There is no grading. There is only observation. The moment you try to be a "good Generator" or a "perfect Projector," you have left the experiment and entered performance. Come back. Notice. Try again. The 30 days are not a verdict. They are a relationship you are building with how you were actually designed to move.
One Month Changes the Story
You do not need to overhaul your whole life. You need 30 days of paying attention. Your strategy is not a rule. Your authority is not a voice you must obey without question. They are tools, and like any tools, they get sharper the more you use them. After a month, you will not be a different person. You will simply be more familiar with the one you already are.
